Ghanaian art collective @afuabegh will showcase new work probing the social history of resistance within the Gulf of Guinea between the 17th century to the 20th.The works will feature visual forms that examine the multiple overlapping identities of historical actors whose politics shaped that era.
Significantly represented , is the story of Afro-Brazilian abolitionists
who fought their way out of enslavement during the Male rebellion in Bahia in 1835. Most of them returned to present day Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.
