When in Ghana it is recommended that you take some time out to visit one of the many forts and castles that are dotted along the coastline. They are steeped in history from the colonial period when Europeans settled on the coast to trade in minerals and in people. These forts tell the history and the battles fought by the Ashanti Empire against the British, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish who were all at war with each through the 16th and 17th centuries.

Ghana is worth visiting based on these discoveries I have just experienced here. There are so many landmarks to visit. It is a country full of history not only about Ghana but also the whole Subsaharan Africa. I can’t wait visit this pride of Africa with its well- known first president and outstanding pan african leader.
