So many people would have heard of the “Sword in the Stone” the disney film. But in Ghana there is a real sword in the stone located in the Kumasi. The story of this sword in the stone is that Situated on the grounds of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, is the Komfo Anokye Sword Site which is seminal in Asante history. The sword has been wedged in the stone for over 300years.

The Sword site is the exact place where the Golden Stool of Asanteman descended unto the laps of King Osei Tutu I, “Opemsuo” the founder of Asante Nation. The site was predicted by Okomfo Anokye to be a healing place for millions of people.

Okomfo Anokye was an Ashanti fetish priest, statesman, and lawgiver. A cofounder of the Ashanti Kingdom in West Africa, he helped establish its constitution, laws, and customs. At this site with the guide you will get the history of the Asante kings.
