The people of Kumasi are very proud to have the Manhyia Palace located in their city and region. This Palace sits on the site of the former capital of the Ashanti Kingdom. The Palace is a museum and used to be the residence of the Asantehene of Asanteman,
The Manhyia Palace is the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman, as well as his official residence. It is located at Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom and Ashanti Region. The first palace is now a museum. Unfortunately there are no pictures allowed to be taken inside the museum. Which in a way allows the residence to preserve its history and mystic. Its a great place to visit not just for school trips but for families and individuals wanting to learn more about the rich history of Ghana.

I am a Ga man but also admires the Asantes a great deal because of their rich culture, traditions and their land that they live on. The kente ,asagua,adinkra and the gye nyame symbol are all if I may say the hallmarks of the Asantes that has become part of all lives of all Ghanaian people.May we ,the people of Ghanaman excel and be respected wherever we go in our struggle to earn our living.
