Marcus Garvey Day Exhibition & Concert
We kick off our exhibit at 11 am. It will feature diasporan and indigenous businesses & organizations. Artists and artisans with their best handicrafts. And a wide array of ital food and juices on the menu. There will also be a children’s section wherein activities will be arranged and planned to keep the youth busy while the parents socialize and network. Our favorite Reggae DJs (DJ Tony Roots & DJ Serius) will provide the soundtrack. The evening will begin with the invocation of Word, Sound, & Power. Utterances from powerful poets and magnificent orators will transition us into the mood of celebrating Garvey’s life through music. Following the tributes, the Lipstick band, an all-female band, will set the tone for the evening by performing a set of classic Reggae covers. Once the mood is set and the moon is in bloom, Jah Bouks will grace the stage to mesmerize us from his awesome catalogue.
