What we thought about Simret?
All we can say is that this place as Cozy and comfortable ambiance almost calming with a very friendly and warm owner who is always on hand to guide you. The great thing about this place is that even though we were not all up to speed on Ethiopian dishes having the option to indulge in the buffet allowed us to try a little bit of everything and go back for more of the things we liked.
It’s a great place overall serving authentic food of Ethiopia / Eritrea, which is tasty and original be mindful that some of the dishes are a little bit spicy for those who are still not used to Shito, but this is just what it makes it so genuine. Food is served from a buffet, just like in Ethiopia, with all the typical meat and vegetable dishes.
A nice coffee ceremony with Ethiopian coffee closes every dinner. The owner Tsege is always on hand which makes this place feel like you have entered her home for dinner. Simret opens most evenings from 6:30pm”
