Country Club is an upscale dining and leisure destination on Luciana Boulevard in Trasacco Valley, Accra. Built around a relaxed waterside setting, it’s a place for long lunches, date nights, celebrations and evenings when you want the setting to be as much a part of the experience as the food.

By evening, dining centres around Ernesto’s, Country Club’s Italian kitchen, with a menu of Italian regional dishes made with an emphasis on ingredients prepared in-house and influences from what’s seasonally available in Ghana.

The menu is considerably more focused than a typical international restaurant menu. Expect homemade pasta and cheeses, Italian starters, seafood, meat dishes and desserts, with some Ghanaian ingredients incorporated into the cooking.

Current starters include Arancini di Riso (GHS 125), Parmigiana di Melanzane (GHS 130) and Gamberi al Burro e Limone – prawns with butter and lemon (GHS 200).

For pasta, options include Lasagna all’Emiliana (GHS 185), Cannelloni Ricotta e Spinaci (GHS 190) and Ravioli alla Carbonara (GHS 210). One of the more unusual dishes is Gnocchi Gorgonzola (GHS 190), made with homemade cocoyam gnocchi.

Main dishes currently range from around GHS 190–350.

Examples include:

• Agnello del Contadino – GHS 280 – lamb ribs with brandy, herbs and Parmentier potatoes
• Maiale al Latte – GHS 240 – milk-braised pork with glazed potatoes
• Pollo alla Valdostana – GHS 190 – slow-cooked chicken breast with Fontina and mushroom sauce
• Filetto di Cernia alle Erbe – GHS 190 – grouper fillet with herbs, onion and white wine sauce
• Filetto di Manzo – GHS 350 – matured beef fillet with a choice of sauce and seasonal side

Sides range from GHS 40–60.

Desserts & Drinks

Desserts continue the Italian-Ghanaian approach. Choices include Oreo Tiramisu (GHS 110), Three Chocolate Cheesecake with cocoyam and edible gold (GHS 130) and Giardino Zen (GHS 130), combining handmade chocolate, cotton candy and ice cream.

Country Club also has an extensive drinks list covering cocktails, mocktails, Champagne and wine. Cocktails generally start from around GHS 70, while the wine cellar ranges from wines by the glass through to premium Champagne and Grand Cru bottles.
