25 Questions Gen Z Really Ask About Living, Working and Vibing in Accra

by The Ghana Vibes Collective
November 29, 2025
2 Comments

Accra is full of energy, ambition, late-night plans, endless soft-life aspirations, and a community of young people who are constantly building, posting, editing, hustling and vibing. And if you’ve ever spent five minutes around Gen Z in this city, you already know they are the real agents of chaos  asking the kinds of questions no tour guide, no aunty, and definitely no Google map is ready for.

So, in the spirit of public service (and mild fear), the Ghana Vibes Collective gathered the most iconic Gen Z questions about life in Accra… and did our absolute best to answer them. Emphasis on “best.” Enjoy

Here are the actual, unfiltered questions young people want answers to when navigating life in Accra.

1. Where are the best places to take content for Instagram or TikTok?

Anywhere with white walls, palm trees, or vibes. Accra is basically an open-air studio. Even the traffic light can give iconic lighting if you angle your face well.

When you’re craving sun, sand, and that soft-life energy, Bojo Beach always delivers. It sits just on the outskirts of Accra, separated from the mainland by a calm lagoon, so the whole place feels like a mini-escape. Great for a peaceful swim, a content-shoot day, or simply lying back with the waves in your ears.

2. Which cafés have free WiFi and won’t chase you out if you stay for five hours editing reels?

Go to the cafés where half the room is already on Final Cut Pro. If no one blinks when you pull out a tripod, you’ve found your home.

If your vibe is brunch, good coffee, and a bit of people-watching, Café Kwae hits the sweet spot. It’s warm, stylish, and perfect for everything from remote work sprints to long catch-ups. Their breakfast plates and pastries are favourites for a reason you can easily settle in for hours without realising it.

3. Is there anywhere to rent scooters, e-bikes, or anything cute for lifestyle vlogs?

If Accra had Lime Bikes, nobody would ever walk again. Until then, you are the scooter. Be strong.

4. Which food delivery app is fastest when you’re too tired to cook but still want gourmet vibes?

The fastest one is always the one you didn’t pick. The one you picked will arrive exactly when hunger has won the war.

When you don’t know what you’re in the mood for, MenuFinder Africa is one of those handy local platforms people turn to for quick food inspiration. Whether you’re looking for a new restaurant, a snack run, or delivery options, it’s a reliable way to switch up your usual choices.

5. Are there co-working spaces where I can pretend I’m a full-time entrepreneur?

Yes. They exist. Just carry a laptop and type aggressively  that’s your membership card.

Kukun blends a café, bar, and co-working space into one of Osu’s most relaxed spots. You can slide in for brunch, grab a smoothie, or tuck yourself away in a corner to get some work done. Later in the day it transitions effortlessly into a social hub  the type of place you can start alone and end up chatting with new people.

6. What are the trendiest brunch spots where everyone goes to soft-launch their situationships?

Anywhere with waffles, mood lighting, and a strategically cropped photo. If the photo is plates-only, trust that someone soft-launched someone.

If the mood is casual drinks, light bites, or a pretty spot to unwind with friends, the Rose Garden style of hangout pretty décor, outdoor seating, that soft conversational atmosphere — is what plenty of people look for. Around Osu, these relaxed, garden-style places are ideal for both daytime and early-evening socialising.

7. Where can you buy aesthetic home décor without paying London prices?

Welcome to the legendary Ghanaian skill: bargaining until the seller regrets making eye contact.

When the shopping urge hits — whether it’s for essential bits, décor, or electronics places like Malcolm Mall and Orca Deco are regular go-tos around town. They’re practical stops when you want to get everything in one run, or when you’re in that “let me refresh the home a bit” kind of mood.

8. Any gyms with pilates or yoga that match my wellness era energy?

Yes, and they will remind you that wellness is peaceful until the instructor says “just one more.”

On the days you want to sweat it out and reset your energy, Fitrip Ghana is a solid pick. It’s known for its friendly community vibe, clean setup, and a mix of classes and gym spaces that suit every fitness level. Think of it as both a workout spot and a place to feel plugged into a positive routine.

9. Which areas of Accra have the nicest apartments for people manifesting luxury living?

Manifest in Airport, visualize in Cantonments, budget in Dzorwulu, and pray in East Legon.

10. Where can I find affordable photographers or someone to shoot my birthday content?

Ask any friend with a DSLR — they will instantly become “creative directors.” Payment accepted in vibes and jollof.

11. Is there an Accra version of Uber Pool so I can save money but still arrive in style?

It’s called “calling your friend to pick you up.” Surge pricing depends on how far they live.

12. Are there late-night spots that stay open for after-party vibes?

This is Accra. The after-party has an after-party, and even that one closes late.

13. Where do creators hang out when they want to network or pretend they’re networking?

Anywhere with ring lights, iced lattes, and someone loudly saying “content is currency.”

14. Which markets have the best thrift clothes for vintage drip?

The best drip is found by those who are willing to sweat, dig, elbow, and negotiate like their future depends on it.

15. Where do I go for nails, lashes, hair — basically the full beauty package?

Pick a salon where the playlist is good. If you can’t vibe during your pedicure, go home.

For spa days, massages, or a simple self-care reset, Ma’ati Spa often comes up in conversations as a calm, refreshing spot. Even though some spas stay low-key online, they’re loved for their ambience and attentive service perfect when you just need to unplug

16. Any apps for last-minute errands or someone to pick up my parcel when I can’t be bothered?

Yes, but nothing beats the OG: the cousin who “happens to be in the area.”

17. Where can I learn photography, editing, or creator skills without spending too much?

YouTube University — proudly producing Ghana’s top creators since forever.

18. Where do young entrepreneurs actually meet investors — or is it all vibes?

Mostly vibes. Occasionally an investor appears like a side character entering the scene dramatically.

19. Is there a place to repair iPhones fast because my life is literally on that phone?

There are multiple. They don’t even need your receipt — just your tears and your IMEI.

20. Where can I hang out that’s fun but also affordable because salary no dey stretch?

Anywhere with friends. Enjoyment is free when the laughter is real.

21. Is there a safe place to jog or roller-skate that’s also content-friendly?

If the lighting is good and the pavement is smooth, congratulations — you’ve found a runway.

22. Where do people go for cute date nights that don’t feel too try-hard?

Anywhere with good seats and better lighting. Love is blind, but your camera isn’t.

23. Any places to buy ring lights, mics, and creator gear in Accra?

Yes — but brace yourself. You’ll walk in for a ring light and walk out with a whole studio.

24. Where can I find a quiet spot to reflect on life choices that also sells iced coffee?

Any café with plants, soft music, and overpriced lattes. The ambience alone will guide your spirit.

25. Where do young people go when they want to feel like they’re in a reality TV show?

East Legon. No explanation needed.

I love the honesty in this article. As a young professional looking at remote work options, but the cost in Accra isn’t as cheap as people think! Cedis just leave my hand as soon as they come

The ‘vibing’ part is easy, it’s the ‘working’ part that’s the challenge! The digital nomad scene is growing here, but we need better public Wi-Fi in cafes
