Boti Falls
Boti Falls is one of the most popular natural attractions in Ghana and a must-see destination when visiting the Eastern Region. Located in the small town of Boti in the Manya Krobo District, these famous twin waterfalls sit about 17 km north-east of Koforidua, the regional capital. The drive takes around 30 minutes from Koforidua and roughly 90 minutes from Accra, depending on traffic and your mode of transport.
What makes Boti Falls special is that it is actually two waterfalls flowing side by side, often referred to locally as the male and female falls. During the rainy season the two streams combine into one powerful cascade, creating an impressive sight and plenty of mist around the base of the falls.
Getting Down to the Falls
To reach the base of the waterfall you will need to descend a long staircase that winds through the forest. The steps down are fairly manageable, but the climb back up can feel more challenging, especially in the heat. Comfortable shoes and some water are definitely recommended.
At the entrance you will usually be assigned a local guide who will walk with you down to the falls and explain a bit about the area. Many visitors also combine the waterfall trip with nearby attractions such as Umbrella Rock and the Three-Headed Palm Tree, both located within the same area.
Entrance Fees for Boti Falls
Boti Falls entrance fees are very reasonable and are typically charged at different rates for locals and international visitors:

- Adults 70 GHc
- Children and students 50 GHc

- Adults 150 GHc
- Children and students 100 GHc
Tour Guide Fee
- Tour guide fee for 1 – 50 people = 100Ghc

What to Expect
The pool at the bottom of the falls is refreshing but be prepared — the water is very cold. Many visitors enjoy standing near the spray of the falls rather than swimming for too long.
Also note that Boti Falls is seasonal. During very dry periods the water flow can reduce significantly, while in the rainy season the falls are at their most powerful and impressive. There are washroom facilities on site as well as refreshments services.
