The Black Stars Are Back!
The wait is over. The Black Stars are heading back to football’s biggest stage, the FIFA World Cup.
This will be Ghana’s fifth appearance at the tournament, and if history has taught us anything, it’s that Ghana never arrives just to make up the numbers. From the unforgettable run to the quarter-finals in 2010 to memorable victories over some of the world’s biggest football nations, the Black Stars have built a reputation for shaking up the script.
Could 2026 be the year that script gets completely torn apart?
Could this be the tournament where an African nation finally reaches the final and lifts football’s most prestigious trophy?
Why not Ghana?
There is also something poetic about this World Cup being hosted in the United States. Ghana and the USA have history. The two nations have met three times at the World Cup, with Ghana winning twice before suffering defeat in Brazil in 2014. While they won’t meet in the group stage this time around, many Ghanaian fans will see this tournament as another opportunity for the Black Stars to remind the world of their talent on American soil.
The crowds. The media spotlight. The atmosphere. This World Cup has all the ingredients for something special.
Black Stars players to Watch?
The Black Stars squad heading to North America is packed with experience, exciting young talent and players competing at some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Fans will be keeping a close eye on midfield general Thomas Partey, explosive winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, Athletic Bilbao star Inaki Williams and Ghana’s latest Premier League sensation Antoine Semenyo.

Ghana’s Group L Opponents
Ghana have been handed one of the tournament’s most intriguing groups.
England
On paper, England arrive as favourites. Their squad is packed with world-class talent and this tournament represents their first major test under Thomas Tuchel. The Three Lions have quality across the pitch, but tournament football is rarely won on paper.
Croatia
For the first time in World Cup history, Ghana will face Croatia. The Europeans may be approaching the end of a golden generation, but they still possess one of football’s greatest midfielders.
Luka Modrić will be appearing at what is expected to be his fifth and final World Cup. Even at 40 years old, the Croatian legend remains capable of producing moments of magic. One perfectly weighted pass can split a defence apart before anyone in the stadium realises what has happened.
Panama
Never underestimate Panama.
Many pundits see them as the outsiders in Group L, but tournament football is full of surprises. Panama are organised, disciplined and the type of team that keeps fighting until the final whistle. Ghana will need to be fully focused if they want to start the tournament with three points.
In true Ghana Vibes fashion, we’re calling it now:
Group L could be one of the most entertaining groups of the World Cup.
