After 18 years at Accra Mall, Silverbird Cinemas is getting its first major renovation.
The cinema temporarily closed its doors on 22 September 2026, with Silverbird describing the work as adding a little “make-up” to the venue. But after nearly two decades of welcoming moviegoers, we’re interested to see just how much has changed.
The Accra Mall cinema is expected to reopen on 7 October, following just over two weeks of renovation work.
What can moviegoers expect?
Silverbird hasn’t revealed everything about the refurbishment yet, so we’ll wait until the doors reopen before telling you what’s new. What we do know is that the work is intended to refresh the cinema experience at one of Accra’s longest-running multiplexes. For regular visitors, that makes the reopening worth watching.
Still want to catch a movie?
While Accra Mall is closed, Silverbird Cinemas West Hills Mall remains fully open, with movies showing throughout the week.
