Silverbird Cinemas Accra Mall gets its first major makeover in 18 years

The wait is over! Silverbird Cinemas Accra Mall is officially back in action, following its first major renovation in 18 years.

The cinema temporarily closed its doors on 22 September 2026 for what Silverbird described as a little “make-up”. Originally scheduled to reopen on 7 October, the refurbishment took a little longer than expected.

But as of 16 October, Accra Mall is welcoming moviegoers again, just in time for the weekend.

What’s changed at Silverbird Accra Mall?

After nearly two decades, Silverbird Accra Mall has received a much-needed makeover, giving moviegoers a fresher, brighter cinema experience.

The main foyer, ticketing and concessions areas have been upgraded, with improved lighting and refreshed flooring throughout the cinema.

Inside the screening rooms, upgraded seating offers a more comfortable movie experience.

It’s a welcome refresh for one of Accra’s best-known cinemas.
