The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and memorial park is located in downtown Accra. The park was built to honour Kwame Nkrumah (1909 – 27 April 1972) who led Ghana to independence from Britain in 1957 and served as its first prime minister and president.
At this location you can find a restaurant, a gift shop a library and buildings housing personal artifacts from the life of Kwame Nkrumah. This place is a great immersive day out.
The two main features of Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum are the museum and the mausoleum. The mausoleum is the actual place where Kwame Nkrumah is laid to rest. The mausoleum itself is built on a man-made island which is connected to the mainland by two bridges.
