I’m Tracy Ama Amene Tenkorang, a registered midwife and the Director of Healthy Bambini and Vein Ghana. In April 2018, I initiated the Healthy Bambini project to provide crucial maternity support to women, particularly teenage mothers and vulnerable individuals. Over time, this project evolved into an NGO committed to enhancing maternal and child health. More recently, recognizing the need for broader health initiatives, I founded Vein Ghana.I’m thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between Healthy Bambini and Vein Ghana. We are hosting a Fundraising Gala Event on November 25, 2023, from 7 pm to 10 pm. The goal of this event is to secure funds for our upcoming projects in the coming year.
The evening’s program will feature stories from our beneficiaries, insights into the origins of our NGOs, and details of our forthcoming projects. We’ll serve dinner, providing an opportunity for networking and dialogue among our stakeholders. Our esteemed board chair, Neka Malone, a multiple award-winning advocate for women’s empowerment, will be in attendance, along with our beneficiaries and esteemed partners like Lead Africa and Greenland’s Medical Supplies Limited.
One of our significant achievements at Healthy Bambini has been providing emotional, physical, and financial support to teenage pregnant girls, enabling them to continue their education and equipping them with essential life skills. The positive outcomes are evident in two babies who have begun their educational journeys. We also have three toddlers, and we sadly lost one on May 4, 2023; may his soul rest in peace. The mothers of these children have benefited from skill development programs, with one mother trained in hairdressing and another successfully passing the BECE and now in SHS 1.
Vein Ghana, launched in April 2023, already has 30 beneficiaries receiving our monthly essential packs every three months. These packs include items like shaving sticks, pads, tissue, panties, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants, and sanitizers. We have also educated over 3,000 students in the central and eastern parts of Ghana on reproductive health and hygiene for both sexes.
Through this inaugural event, we aim to raise funds to continue providing care for our beneficiaries in the next year. Additionally, we aspire to conduct our yearly breast cancer awareness screening and offer free health screening events for underprivileged communities, contributing to a healthy, sustainable support system that we strongly advocate for
