So the first question I hear you are ask why only 8 nightclubs in Accra?
We have seen many websites listing 10 or more night clubs in Accra and this is where we scratch our heads and ask really?
It seems that many travel sites and other review sites including some Ghana YouTubers keep listing bars and lounges in Accra as night clubs when in fact they are not. Night clubs in Accra don’t really sell food and they do not open till late in the evening and stay open to 6am.
What is the difference between a bar a lounge and nightclub in Accra?
A times it”s just the way people describe a venue however, its easy to understand where clubs and bars get mixed up in Accra.
Bars and Lounges in Accra
These venues do not have a permanent dance floor they usually open after work and as the evening progresses some tables and chairs will be moved away to create a dance floor. Bars serve drinks that is their main focus, many bars are smaller with some having outside space.
There are no entrance fees for bars. Lounges in Accra are like bars, however their main difference is that they serve food usually off a menu. Some have limited selections whilst others have full on selections. Lounges are more relaxed than restaurants as there is always loud music, cocktails flowing. Many lounges have outdoor areas with live bands or a DJ. There is no entrance fee for lounges unless there is an event.
Nightclubs in Accra
Night clubs are usually dedicated venues with large dance floors and different rooms with different types of music. With nightclubs 90% of them are indoors so have air conditioning. Also with night clubs in Accra there is an entrance fee that comes with the expensive overpriced drinks that you tend to only manage one or two as the music keeps you going. Nightclubs are mainly open at the later end of the week from Thursdays through to Sunday and are open till 6am.
So now we have that straightened that out we can move on to the 8 most recommended night clubs in Accra today.
