The people of Kumasi are very proud to have the Manhyia Palace located in their city and region. This Palace sits on the site of the former capital of the Ashanti Kingdom. The Palace is a museum and used to be the residence of the Asantehene of Asanteman,
The Manhyia Palace is the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman, as well as his official residence. It is located at Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom and Ashanti Region. The first palace is now a museum. Unfortunately there are no pictures allowed to be taken inside the museum. Which in a way allows the residence to preserve its history and mystic. Its a great place to visit not just for school trips but for families and individuals wanting to learn more about the rich history of Ghana.
